Origami Flower

This is a picture of my first origami flower, I found this fantastic tutorial here, Marta has given very clear instructions ,so easy to follow, I really enjoyed doing this,I can see in the photo that I need to improve my points,practice makes perfect or something near to it, so I am off to make some more, If you haven't try this technique give it a try, it doesn't take long for the lovely flower to take shape.
Esta es la foto de mi primera flor en Origami, me ha encantado la tecnica, un millon de gracias a Marta que en su blog a compartido un Tutorial excellente y muy facil de seguir. No photos today, just me wanting to see hello, and tell you what I have been up to.
I went shopping , what is new,I love finding new things for sewing and stitching, not good at Mall shopping, but love the old part of town (Bur Dubai and Deira) all the back street with small shops , selling threads, buttons,is my idea of heaven , buying something I never new I need it ( lol), finding the little eating places- they are not big enough to be call restaurants- were the workers eat, another treat lovely fresh juices.
The party season has began here so last night we were invited to dinner on a glass boat cruising the Dubai Creek, it was beautiful , the weather perfect the food excellent, great company, I didn't know most of the people there, they were some of my husband colleagues and their wives, still we had a great time.
It is only one week and our daughter , husband and GD will arrive, can't tell you how exited we are, being Grandparents for us is one of the most wonderful things life has given us.Our son and family are not coming, so we will not have Jack with us , we did have them last year in England and understand that we have to share them with Meghan's family, maybe we will see them at the beginning of next year.
Today is weekend here in the Middle East, and after going out last night we are doing nothing today, DH is preparing breakfast, well brunch really and it is ready so I better go and enjoy his wonderful egg and bacon.

I have been having a great time, sewing and learning new things.
Made a couple of dresses for our adore GD, thy will be coming to spend Christmas with us, can't wait to see them.
I went to a fantastic couple of workshops with Gloria Loughman, what a fantastic teacher and lovely person she is , you can see her work in here www.glorialoughman.com the workshops I took were Layer by Layer and Flying Free, I will put some photos of what we did some other time.
On Thursday I was invite to a Coffee Morning with Pam Holland, her work is really amazing,it was a pleasure to meet her, maybe one day I will be able to take a workshop with her, her sister lives in Dubai so she comes quite often to visit , this time she was on holidays and not teaching so we were very lucky to be able to meet her and see some of her fantastic work, there was some door prices and I was lucky to win some lovely batiks fabrics.
All in all my life in here is pretty interesting, been able to see, meet and learn from all this lovely people is fantastic ,I never had the chance before.
I am going now, to go and have a walk in blog land to see what you all talented ladies have been doing.

I have finished the Christmas Tree mini quilt SAL form Cose que te Cose ; this the first time that I have done paper piecing I really enjoyed it.I added some presents to the bottom of my tree, they where bussy cut from a Chritsmas fabric and fuse.
Tambien termine el SAL de Cose que te cose, esta es la primera vez que hago algo con esta tecnica , me gusto mucho.
Yo a mi arbol le puse unos regalos que corte de una tela de Navidad .

Here I am again, I have been meaning to write this post for a week now, I really don't know where my time goes (bg)plus the fact that I have a new computer (MAC) and I am finding working things out on it a bit difficult, I am not computer savi (BG)
I have finished a few things one of them is the Christmas Garland form the SewHappy Christmas SAl.
I took it to the show and tell at our Guild on Sunday and every body love it (don't forget I am in the Middle East so Sunday is a working day)
Here Are some pictures for all of you to see, I finished my back with a Christmas fabric, so it looks pretty on both sizes, and put some little bows in place of the buttons .
Aqui esta mi Guirnalda de Navidad terminada, fue el SAL de SewHappy como pueden ver en las fotos ,en la parte de atras puse una tela de Navidad asi se ve bonita por los dos lados y cambie los botones por una cinta dorada.

I have not done a lot in the last few days, we have had the Eid holiday in here so my DH was home for 5 days what a treat, we had a lovely time , some friends visit and the rest of the time we did very little just enjoy each other company.
The only thing I have been doing is the stitching for the Jura Point de Croix Blog Christmas Challenge, I can't show you any thing yet all I can say is that the designs are beautiful. and will be available to every one at the end of December. I don't know if you have visit this blog , it really is an inspirational one, with lots of ideas and great free patterns.Go and have a look and you will see what I mean.
Yesterday after DH went back to work I went to the shops for some thread(just one colour)I came home with lots of fabrics and other bits, what fun I had.
I also found a lovely SAL in Cose que te Cose blog, I love this mini quilt of a Christmas tree,I was late for the inscription, but Natitux was very kind and send the patterns so I can take part.know I must go have a swim and after some sewing, have a great day wherever you are.
Hemos estado de Vacaciones Eid bueno mi Esposo ha estado de vacaciones por 5 dias,asi que no he hecho mucho, cuando el esta en casa casi no entro a mi cuarto de las costuras, hago cosas a mano en las tardes cuando nos sentamos a ver una pelicula o algo en la television, he estado bordando alguno de delos diseños de el desafio de Jura Point de Croix para esta Navidad, no les puedo mostrar nada por el momento es un secreto hasta Diciembre, cuando se pondran las fotos de todas las participantes en el blog, si les puedo decir que los diseños son muy lindos y que estaran disponibles para todas a fines de año , no se si han visitado este blog, tiene cosas hermosas y muchos patrones gratis para bajar realmente vale la pena visitarlo.
Ayer cuando my esposo regreso a trabajar yo me fui de compras , solo un hilito.... varias horas despues y un monton de telas y otras cositas, regrese a casa cansada pero feliz
lo otro que empezare a hacer hoy es una de Mini quilt de Navidad es un SAL que ha organizado Natitxu, me ha encantado y aunque cuando lo vi ya era tarde para apuntarme cuando se lo solicite, Natitxu fue un amor y me ha enviado los patrones para hacerlo, bueno la primera parte, estoy feliz asi que me voy a escoger las telitas para este y ya les mostrate mi progreso

The other day when fabric shopping I saw the panels for making this fabric books, I remember how much the girls like theirs in fact Hannah now reads hers to her sister, so I bought some for Jack I love them they are so soft.
El otro dia cuando fui de compras encontre estos libros de genero, son super faciles de hacer, ya los habia hecho para las niñitas , a ellas les encantaron Hannah ahora se los lee a su hermanita, asi que los compre e hize para Jack, ojala que el tambien los disfrute tanto como sus primitas.
Bueno finalmente pude poner todo lo que queria, el problema es que me pilla la tecnologia (lol)

Sorry I couldn't put any more pictures on that post, I am not that good with computers so here I am a new posting.
I have had the stitching for this lovely Rosalie Quinlan design done for ages, finally I have out it together, is lovely, i want to share with you the pictures and tell you that it is very important to keep to the exact measurements, I did cut my main body an inch or so smaller didn't think that the circle for the bottom also need it to be smaller, result extra work and really sore fingers, never mind I think it was worth it!

Yesterday morning I went to a fabric Dyeing workshop, what fun!!! I choose to dye my fabric in purples shades , with a mixed of just two colours Royal Blue & Magenta I came home with 18 beautiful pieces of dye fabrics 9 first dye and 9 second dye I love them,it didn't end there we also did another 3 pieces, look at them in the pictures, I am hook, this is something that I have wanted to do for a long time, now that I know how to do it I will be playing mixing colours and seen what I come up with.
Ayer en la mañana fui a una clase donde aprendimos a teñir telas, esto era algo que hace mucho tiempo queria aprender a hacer, es muy facil y entretenido, con la mezcla de solo dos colores en distintas cantidades he terminado con 18 colors de telas; me encantan ustedes que piensan.Tambien teñimos otras tres telas en las fotos pueden ver los resultados.

Friendship (Amistad)

How wonderful it is to have friends, I must tell you about this friendship , we met in the internet,I visited her blog ask for something, that was the start me in Africa , Odette in Chile, this was 2 years ago, we have since met I spend a few days with Odette and her family in Iquique, we had a great time.
Since then she has move and we have not chat like before, well we are back to our chats , this time she is in the south of Chile and me in Dubai, the difference in time is great (7 hrs), it was so nice to talk like before visiting blogs together and showing each other what we are working on.I am half sleep it really is late here, but i could not go to bed without sharing this with you, the blog world is a wonderful place were to make friends and be inspired by talented ladies.
Esta es una history muy linda de como el mundo de los blog, puede contribuir a que nuestro mundo sea mejor.
Conoci a Oddette hace un poco más de dos años, en el internet, ella en Chile yo en Africa,pero la distancia no existia cuando chateabamos, en uno de mis viajes a Chile nos conocimos , o mejor dijo nos vimos cara a cara pase unos dias muy lindos en su casa.
Luego por circunstacias de la vida, nos comunicamos muy poco, pero ya nos encontramos nuevamente, ella en el sur de Chile yo en Dubai, y nuevamente la distacia no existe cuando chateamos por Skype. Estoy segura que muchas de vosotras teneis historias parecidas a esta, que hermoso es tener amigas¡¡

I can't believe it it is nearly a month since I last wrote on the blog.
I will tell you what I have been up to in the last month, once a week I have been taking a Quilting Class , this is my first ever, I have learn quite a lot,will show you the results from it in the near future, I have also got along with the SewHappy Christmas SAl,I am up to day with it , waiting for tomorrow to see what the next part is.
this is all for now I am off to find something to Stitch while sitting next to my DH

Veamos si esto me resulta, creo que por fin podré escribir en un Español, un poquito mejor que antes....
Hace casi un mes que no escribia,he estado ocupada tomando una clase de Quilting en la que he aprendido bastante, es la primera vez en mi vida que tomo una clase(nunca antes habia tenido la posibilidad de hacerlo) cuando terminemos el projecto en el que estamos trabajando pondré fotos.
tambien he estado bordado los diseños que nos entrega cada viernes SewHappyMe en su blog, me encanta como esta quedando. En la foto podeis ver los resultados, ya vamos en el 4 diseño, la mitad de la guirnalda.
Esto es todo por ahora,nos vemos otro dia.

Yesterday really was a day for finishing things, I have been knitting a small shawl a lovely design from Evelyn Clark call "Swallowtail Lace Shawl" I have used a hand dye silk and wool yarn , you can find the pattern for free in ravelry
here is a picture, I have to block it , I have never done that before so wish me luck.

Where does the time goes? I don't know... here I am once more, Summer is over and we are back in Dubai, had a great time in Turkey our lovely DIL and Grandson came to visit with her parents, it was very nice to have them all , but I really miss our girls, thay didn't come, for the first time they were not there this Summer is was odd and at times a little sad, never mind God willing they will be here with us for Christmas can't wait to see them.
Not much sewing got done, a little knitting,that is all, having said that I am really pleased with myself finally I have done all the stitching for my Gardeners Journal Quilt so I have now started to put it all together, the first block is done will share some photos later on.
I went home for a week in August , to see the girls and much to my delight it was the week when the Festival of Quilts was on so I went there only for the day ( friday) met a friend from Dubai and had a great time, shopping and admiring the beautiful quilts. got quite a few new books so I have a head full of ideas for new projects, less hope that some of them get done, hopping that I will not have to go anywhere at least until the new year, if that happens I am sure I will be able to do some more quilting and stitching.
I really miss my blog world, to spend time looking at other blogs and seen all the wonderful things that other people do is inspirinig, so I said bye for now, praying that once more I can go into my routine, so I can visit all the lovely blogs like I just to.

I can't believe that I actually have the time to look and write on my blog, it feels so gooood!
I have been so busy,getting yet another house on the go is hard almost there, the best part about it is that I now have a big sewing room, not fully organize yet it should be in the next couple of weeks, when ready I will post pictures.
To be honest I never though I would say this but here it is Dubai is an amazing place, so much to see and do, some lovely fabric shops that have already been visit and given quite a helpful hand to increase my fabric stash (lol). I am so happy to say that now I belong to a Quilting Bee YES for the first time in my quilting life,I will be able to share my quilting passion with this lovely ladies,very talented all of them. We meet every Sunday at each others houses at least this is what will happen for the Summer time.
Next time we meet I will take pictures and share them with you all.
Right now I am in England for a few days will be back to Dubai next week, I have lots to catch up with,and I am dying to have a go in my new sewing machine I have had it since last October and I am yet to do some sewing in it.
I hope that from now on I will have the time to write and share with you whatever is happening in my life, and would also be able to be inspire by all the beautiful thing to be seen in your blogs , I have really miss you all.

Here i am again, I have been so busy, getting things for the house, we are still at the Hotel.Hoping to move this weekend.
I never though I will say this .."Dubai is amazing" so much to see and do.Last Saturday we went to the Dubai Fountain, what a beautiful espectacle the dancing water is.
I can't remember if I told you all that I went to a knitting group,I had a great time, lots of ladies knitting all kind of things, and there was Jocelyn that sells the most beautiful hand dyed wools, her bussines is called "Dubai Knits" I couldn't resist and bought some, I am now knitting a shawl is one of Evelyn Clark designs ( Swallowtail Lace Shawl)you can find the pattern for free in Ravelry.I am also knitting a little jacket for Jack ( in pure alpaca wool) is what I do when Tim is here so I can talk to him this one does not required so much concentration.
And now the best part of it. Yesterday a friend took me to Satwa and Mina Bazaar the two places were the fabrics are sold, what a treat I was in heaven so many beautiful fabrics,I only bought a few,I am making some summer dresses for the girls, I found some very nice Yuwa fabrics,and we only visit a few shops,so you now were I will be most days when I am still here at the Hotel (lol)
I bought a charger so I will add some photos later on.
Must go I have some one coming to take me to buy some lectrical goods that we need.

What a great time I am having, talk about shop till you drop..(LOL) not really just going around the malls, there is quite a few here and they are huge.
Went to see our new house, it is lovely my DH did very well,I have a really big room that will be my sewing room,and a very nice kitchen can't wait to get there, I don't think it will be until the middle of the month, have to get some furniture first, at least a bed...
Done no sewing at all, I have been told about a Knitting and Crochet group that meets every Friday in one of the malls, planing to go this Friday, so Tim can go and play Golf without feeling guilty, Friday and Saturday are the weekend in here, something I will have to get use to, I don't know what day of the week is right now.The course Tim is playing is too difficult for me so I have decided that until my golf is better I will stay clear of it.
I can't believe I have not got the charger for the camera's so no pictures until I sort that one out, I promise lots once that is done, planning to take a photography course so maybe there will be some improvement on my photographic skills (VG).
Must go and have some breakfast.

Where does time go...?

I don't know, any answers are welcome (LOL).
Here we are is almost April and finally my husband and I are together again, I spend a lovely time in Chile with my family and friends, while Tim was working in Dubai. He finally got his Visa, and we met at home last week, had a mad busy few days and left for Dubai on Thursday evening, so here I am at the begining of a new adventure.
I haven't done much of any thing,the only thing I have been working on is the embroidery part of my Gardeners Journal blocks.
We had a small allowance for unaccompany lugagge and guess what I sent of course my sewing machine and a few projets together with my knitting stuff. it should be here by the end of this week.I am sure I will find some time to do something, I have to choose furniture and things for the house here, so I will be quite busy.
Now that life will be "normal " again I will once again enjoy myself visiting your blog to be inspire by all your wonderful work.

I am back

It has been a long time since I last look never mind wrote any thing on my blog.
I have been so busy, getting every thing ready for Christmas and our son and his family visit.
We had a great Christmas with both our children and their families, it was so nice, it is three years since we were all together for Christmas, and this time there was one more little person Jack , he is such a lovely baby, I was so sad to see him go.
We were planning to move to Holland from the beginning of the year,Tim was only there one day when they told him that they need him in Dubai, so he is already there and I will be following soon.
life certainly is full of surprises.
I have done very little on the way of crafts, some knitting for baby Jack that is all i will share some pictures another day.
I do hope that you all had a great Christmas with your love ones and that 2011 is a fantastic year, when you will all continue to make beautiful things with your hands.

Baby is cold outside!!!

Long time since I wrote, I don't know where the time goes.I have been so busy with the house, we have done a lot of renovations, so is more like a building site, getting to the end of it ( Thank God). now is painting, carpets and curtains, lots of work for me, is not that easy to choose so many thing at once.The incentive to have done is that our Son his Wife and our new grandson will be here on the 14 can't wait to see them.
The only thing I have done is some knitting and some shopping,and what a shoppping spread it was..
I am the proud owner of a new sewing machine, it arrives tomorrow, I bought on Thursday at the Harrogate show, ( bernina 720) will put some pictures once I get it.
I had a great time at the show with my dear friend Glennys, bought some wool, a few fabrics some linen for embroidery and embroidery scissors to add to my collection.
The weather is freezing, ideal for staying in and playing with my new toy, not that I have that much time, there is always something that the people working in here needs to ask me.
Hace bastante tiempo que no escribia,he estado super ocupada con la casa hemos hecho varios cambios ya estamos llegando al final, asi que ahora estan pintando, y he tenido que salir a comprar cortinas, muebles,alfombras, cualquier cantidad de trabajo no es facil cuando hay tantas cosas que elegir, el intensivo es que quiero tener lo mas posible terminado antes de el 14 cuando nuestro hijo su sra y nuestro nieto llegan desde Canada.
Lo unico que he tenido tiempo de hacer es tejer, es lo mas facil cuando hay tanto alboroto alrededor mio.
El jueves fui a Harrogate con mi querida amiga Glennys, lo pasamos super bien , compre lana, algunos generos, lino para bordado y una maquina de coser, (bernina720) llega manana,ya les mostrare fotos, yo la encuentro fabulosa estoy feliz!!!!
Les cuento que aqui hace un frio fenomenal en este momento la temperatura afuera es -1, el tiempo ideal para estar en casa y jugar (lol)el unico problema es que me interrumpen a cada rato ,asi que estoy tejiendo, un jumper para Jack es lo que estoy haciendo.aqui les pongo algunas fotos para que vean lo que he tejido en este ultimo mes.

This is a free pattern from Ravelry (Saroyan) I am knitting it with araucaria, 75 merino wool, 25 syntetic, is lovely, the only problem is that I don't know what I have done wrong,in the straight part, I am decreasing so is on stand by for now.

This is a shawl I started when I was in Santa Rosa last month, is a lovely pattern Damson by Isolda, great instruccions.I have done it in Malabrigo 100% merino wool.
Esto es un chal que empeze cuando estaba en Santa Rosa, mas que nada para tener algo que hace es un patron de Isolda con excelente instruccions.
Here it is finished. I wasn't sure if I was going to wear it, I will is lovely and warm.Aqui pueden ver el resultado final, me encanta es muy abrigador.

Any way in a nut shell, finally home for sometime,I hope, it means that I can get on with my projects, the only thing I have done so far is some knitting, I find that easy when I am on the move.I have finished a romper suit for Jack it is quite and achievement, or at least that is what I think ( LOL), the pattern, was so bad ,or the lack of it, most of it wrong and nothing for the sleeves,good job that they had a picture of the finished romper, so by looking at it I made it up, really like the end product.here is a picture, not a very good one, something else I have to work on (better pictures)

hola,parece que finalmente descubri como usar el teclado en Español!!! ahora tendre que practicar y aprender como poner acentos!!!
Hace tanto tiempo, nuevamente que no escribia,he estado viajando, cuando regrese de Canada lo hice solo por un dia, y luego me fui a San Francisco, bueno Santa Rosa para ser mas exacta, ha visitar familiares que hasta hace un mes atras no conocia, lo pase maravilloso, ahora tengo una familia mucho mas grande que alegria!
Finalmente en casa y si Dios quiere por un largo tiempo,asi que finalmente me pondre al dia con mis bordados y costuras, he estado tejiendo lo unico que encuentro facil hacer cuando ando de un lado para el otro, he terminado un enterito (pelele) para Jack me encanta como ha quedado, realmente no fue facil hacerlo el patron de la revista labores del Hogar , es pesimo, ni siquiera tenia instrucciones de como hacer las mangas( la proxima vez, prometo leer el patron entero antes de empezar a hacer algo (LOL))menos mal que hay una foto de el pelele asi que me guie por esta.
Se lo enviare a Jack mañana. fotos a continuacion.
Y ahora lo que mas me gusta ,decidir cual es mi proximo proyecto, creo que debo empezar a hacer lo que le enviare a mi querida amiga Odette, hemos decidido tener un pequeño intercambio para Navidad.hasta que no se lo envie no pondre fotos, pero a medida que avance algo les contare o mostrare...no sera lo unico que haga eso es imposible para mi siempre tengo mas de un projecto en mano.
Lo otro que estoy tejiendo es un chal/bufanda que empeze antes de salir de viaje es un patron que me envio Helen, muy bonito, estoy usando una lana Teñida en Chile, se llama Araucaria es muy linda.
Bueno creo que ya he escrito bastante, asi que bye for now.

It is been some time since I last wrote, I was so sure last time I wrote that I was going to be home for some time and be able to visit all the blogs that give me so much inspiration and delight my eyes,and do some of my favorite things.
It was not to be , not that the reason is not something as delightful if not more.
I am in Canada, I have come to meet our brand new grandson Jack Timothy, he is one month old, a lovely placid baby, with dark hair and lovely blue eyes.
Last Sunday we had his Christening, here is a picture of his mummy (Meghan) holding him, daddy(Tim, our son) and I.

Hace tiempo que no escribia, la ultima vez que lo hize pense que finalmente estaria en casa y podria disfrutar visitando vuestros blogs y haciendo alguna labor, no ha sido asi,la razon es maravillosa, estoy en Canada visitando nuestro hijo, su Sra y la nueva addicion a la familia Jack Timothy, quie ya tiene un mes , es un bebe muy tranquilo y para nosotros maravilloso con pelo oscuro y ojos azules.El Domingo recien pasado fue su bautizo, un dia muy lindo que disfrutamos enormemente habria sido perfecto si mi esposo hubiese estado aqui tambien, eso no fue posible.
He tejido varias cosas para Jack, tomare fotos para mi proximo posting.

Summer is over, back home, and for sure I will make time for my blog and sewing.
It was a lovely summer, very busy, with friends and family.
our Daugther had a wedding blessing in Turkey, what a lovely party we had, I will share some pictures later on.
Our son and his wife are the proud parents of our GS Jack, the first Lamb to be born in tha last 31 years our son been the last one, so you can imagine how happy my DH is (lol). Can wait to hug this new Grandbaby, will have to wait and see were we are going to live next before I can make plans to travel to Canada to meet him.
I have done so little when it comes to crafts is a shame, some knitting for Jack no quilting at all and only a few stitches ....shame on me.
Iam ready to go now, with so many ideas and projects in my mind, lets see how much i really do (bg).
Hola Chicas, el final del Verano llego, y que Verano mas ocupado, con amigos y familiares,muy lindo en realidad, pero desgraciadamente no hubo tiempo para hacer ningun bordado ni Patchwork, solo un poquito de tejido (bg).
Varias cosas muy lindas han pasado para nuestra familia este Verano, por fin Rebecca y Justin decidieron casarse, asi que en Inglaterra fue el matrimonio civil y una bendicion en Turquia, las dos ocasiones fueron muy lindas, uno de estos dias pondre algunas fotos para compartir con ustedes, Y lo otro es que nuestro nieto Jack el primer hombrecito, hijo de nuestro hijo nacio el 1 de Septiembre , es el primer Lamb que nace en los ultimos 31 anios. como podeis imaginar mi marido esta feliz , continua el apellido ( LOL).fotos uno de estos dias, no saben como tengo de ganas de tener a mi nuevo nieto en mis brazos, aun no se cuando podre viajar a Canada.les cuento que tengo nuevo computador el ultimo finalmente murio, claro que tiene todas mis fotos asi que tendre que encontrar forma de recuperarlas, en este nuevo computador puedo cambiar el Keyboard a espanol, pero desgraciadamante aun no se como hacerlo bien , asi que hasta que aprenda a hacerlo bien, tendran que seguir leyendo my Espanol horrendo sin acento ni las letras que no se encuentran en el teclado .
Bueno ya es muy tarde a si que ha dormir, y desde manana empiezo a "jugar" con mis bordados nuevamente.

Here is a picture of the Hardanger SAL .
I have not been able to finish the last instalment on this, the reason been I have run out thread and the one I have is a diferent white, so i will have to wait until I get home, to see if I can find the same color.... wish me luck, if not plan b , I don't know what that one is yet lol

I found this lovely little quilt in Lori's Blog , loved it so I decided to make it unfortunately time was not on my side,to be honest i think deep down i knew that i was not going to be able to finish it before leaving here any way this is what i have done up to know,I like it and will finish it some time soon

And last but not least , my progress on the SAL that Chookyblue has organized we are stitching "A Gardener's Journal" by Anni Downs it is lovely.
As you can see I have printed all the designs for the stitchery and I have finished one 1/2 way with another and plenty to go, this is a great thing to have right now, all i need is needle and thread, the blogs will be put together later on.

I have only just found out that I am one of the lucky winners at Dawn's give away.
It came when I really need it some TLC, I have had a very stressful day, moving is STRESFUL!!! to say the least ,I am glad to report that all the packing is done, the container is on his way and we hope that we will see it some time from now in England:)

I am going mad , or maybe I am mad, what was I think , left every thing for the last minute, the packers are coming tomorrow, that is fine the problem is: we are supposse to do a detail list of every thing we are sending back is a real pain :)with prices....
I will put some pictures tomorrow, of what I have been doing, I finished a Quilt with Nigerian fabrics,done some embroidery for the SAL A Gardeners Journal and started a mini qulit 6 blogs so far, this is a project from Lori's blog I love the pattern, so like a child I have been playing rather than working lol.
Only one week and we will be in our way home,I am ready now, I will be sad .I have had some lovely times in here, met some nice people, but ... every thing comes to and end, and this is it for us.
Don't know for certain were the next project will be,for me it means that I will probably stay longer in Turkey and once the summer is over it will be home to England,Tim will spend a few months more in here.

I must tell you about this new grupo Helen and I have started it is all to do with knitting,Helen is found most of the patterns, and I give a helping hand with the translation not that she needs a lot of it to be honest.
Helen has already done some knitting I haven't once I am back at home (England) I will do some, promise to add pictures of any work that we do.

I have been meaning to write since Monday ,i have not found the time, I seen to be busy doing nothing LOL just having fun, enjoying my last days in here, meeting new people that i doubt i will ever see again such shame, they are all very nice.

This was a really long weekend,my DH only went back to work yesterday.It was a fun weekend,we played Golf,ah let me tell you about it, I played night Golf for the first time ever, it is great fun.We had a couple of invitations one was a farewell party,sopmebody is always leaving, so we have plenty of those, and the other was to a BBQ on Sunday,the food and company was great.quiet Monday only golf and them home to do our crossword and enjoy each others company.

Now my new project this is something that I have wanted to do for a long time,bought every thing I need it for it when it first came out, are you ready for it 14 years ago,yes you read it right one four.I am a great believer in better late than never LOL

Here I am once again in Africa, with my DH, I have forgotten what a beautiful place this is,here are some pictures from our garden to give you an idea

I love this place, some people will think I am mad, i can't go any where(for security reasons) there is no shops, no many wifes are here at one time , having said that to me is heaven , I play golf in the morning, very early as soon as the sun comes out so is not to hot,and them home to breakfast and my sewing room.
The sad thing is that my DH project is nearly finish , so we will be leaving in a couple of months, i really don't want to think about it, I am going to just really try and enjoy my last months here. We are going to London, I am sure it will be very nice, closer to home and our adore GD , lots of shops and maybe i will find a nice group of ladies to share my love for sewing.

NEW GRANDCHILD

We are so happy our son and his wife are expecting their first child, our third Grandchild. This time the happy parents wanted to know the sex of the baby so last week we found out that this time we are expecting a Grandson, we already have two adorable GD.This will be the first Lamb to be born in the last 32 years ( our son was the last).
So off I went to my friends shop and bought some blue wool and a beautiful pattern book from Rowan, and here I am knitting with great pleasure. I am terrible I can't never have only one thing on the go..... I do finish them all eventually.
The pictures were taking a couple of days ago , the little cardigan is almost finish now,I will post some more pictures when is done.

PAJARO LOCO GROUP

As Promise here is something about the two SAL groups I have joined,one of them is "Grupo Pajaro Loco" in here we are stitching a Blackbird design "Ti's the Season"
Mine is been stitched on 28 Glenshee natural linen over one thread, with the "Crescent Colours" silks use in the original design. Here are some pictures.

This is the linen and silk threads I am using.

This what I have some so far.

I have put a 20p coin so you can get and idea of the size.
I am behind with my work, it should have been finish last week!!! never mind it will be done this week, I did have to change one of the thread colors , the one suggested in the design did not show in the natural linen, so I am using white.

Home Again.

Here I am back in England after a long time away,probably the longest ever ,5months.
In this long months i had some great times , new experiences and some pretty scary times too.
I was able to meet one friend I made through this amazing world of blogging!!Odette from Odita Super Patch, we spend some wonderful time together in her home, were I was most welcome, and did some stitching together, this was probably most of the stitching I did in all the time I was away.
My DH came for a month and we had a wonderful holiday in the South of Chile, such a beautiful country. then the earthquake, it was quite something, i really thought that my time has come at least for the 2,30 min that it lasted!!I suposse we were the lucky ones in Santiago the devastation was not like in the south.
And now, home again, with a horrible dose of the flu that has keept me in for over a week feeling ill and incapable of doing any thing.I am on the mend now and ready to go, I can't wait to start "playing" with my threads and fabrics, I did order a few new things on the internet when away, and they are all here waiting for me to do something with them, and all my quilting and stitching magazines from Australia , there are so many things that I would love to make.I will post pictures of what ever i do make.
When away I did read some blogs and found a couple of SAl that I joined I will post photos of what I have done in the next few days.
I will go now, maybe some body will read my posting, and eventually other girls will come and visit my blog.
It is nice to be home with the things I love and time for myself!!!

Here I am once again. I have surely miss my blog and "friends" from the blog world.
came back from Canada yesterday evening, the wedding was beautiful , the weather not. Not that it matter to the happy couple. our Daughter-in-law and son made a handsome couple.will share some photos later on.
Will also show you my beautiful, Mug Hug from Terry.
I have not done any sewing whatsoever, did manage to go a quilt shop in Detroit, it was a little disappointing, not many gadgets there and not very friendly people. I still did manage to buy a few things.Lets hope that I can do some sewing in the few days i will be home I am off again on Thursday.
our baggage did not arrive with us so my few quilting related items are not here yet, to be honest I don't remember what I bought lol.What I do remember is that I have lots of magazines, so I am looking forward to look through them.

Here I am again,have not had time to post busy doing some house work I must get the house ready for closing until next summer.
The weather is a little cooler and the sea is nice , no swimming for me for 2 days Dr's orders, I have a few stitches on my earlobe.
I am so angry at myself, I just thought that posting from here will be like posting from home maybe a couple more days that would be all "How wrong was I" 3 weeks my friend tells me longer if register post!!!! that will teach me not to assumed things in future ( if I can remember lol)I am so glad that my Hug swap Terry has been so understanding about this, I will not be home until the 10 of October, so I will not see my "swap" until them, I am looking forward to it.
Must go have some friends coming for dinner tonight so I have to go into the kitchen my favorite place after the sewing room.

I have been busy doing nothing (lol) is a holiday in here today.
The weather is not bad, definitely not for swimming the sea looks grey and furious.
I have been having a horrid time with a site that pop's up every time I try to do anything in my computer is very frustrating.

This is the inside of the bag .

Today I though I will show you a bag I did is one of RedBrolly designs the book isMillie's Flower Patch this is a lovely book, with quite a few designs all of them are very nice.

It was such fun to do, I did paint some of the faces and have stitchand painted one of the little bird in blue ( blue bird of happiness) I did mine reversible with 4 pockets on the inside with stitched butterflies on them.

I doubt that any body has miss me, I was away for a few days , my very good friend Fusun and I went to see one of her friends, we had a lovely time , talking eating and having fun in general, the last day there we went to a restaurant that it was nothing like I have ever seen before, it was in the open a hill with amazing views of the sea and very eclectic furniture, is a place to go and watch the sun set, the food is average, the atmosphere is really nice. I did not have my camera what a shame.

We have had rain the last two days, I love the smells after a rainy day.the sea is beautiful, very temping, still have this rotten cold, maybe is not such a good idea.

Went to Town yesterday, took my little machine to be fix, it will be ready on Monday, did some shopping for" essentials"(read finds , toys for hobbies) the find of the day was some old small reels of pure silk sewing thread, lovely colours.Bought some wool, a few fabrics and some more silk ribbons, I can't resist them the colours are so beautiful!!.

I have spend a quiet couple of hrs doing some crochet, with the wool I bought yesterday, I have forgotten how relaxing it is to do it.I think I will do a blanket with the square when I have enough of them done.

Ha llovido los dos ultimos dias,we encanta el olor de la tierra,despues de la lluvia, el mar esta hermoso es una tentacion, ya veremos , aun estoy resfriada asi que creo que sera mejor que me olvide de el.

Ayer fui a la ciudad, algo que hacer hacia dias que no salia a ningun lado. ademas que tenia que llevar mi maquinita de coser para que me la arreglaran, estara lista el Lunes. luego a pajarear y ver que encuentro que es "esencial"(LOL) bueno encontre unos hilos de seda antiguos, preciosos los colores son muy lindos, tambien compre lana y he pasado un par de horas muy entretenida haciendo un cuadrado a crochet, me habia olvidado de lo relajador que es hacer esto,la lana tiene todos los colores de el arco iris, estoy pensando en hacer una colcha con varios de ellos, ya veremos cuanto me dura la inspiracion (VG)

What a day, is started not so well, broke the bobbin winder on my little sewing machine, so no machine sewing for me,is so frustrating, in here I have very few of my sewing's things,town is over an hr away, not that you find anything to do with quilting there, so you really have to use your imagination (what???).
Any way decided to play with some lovely linen band I bought the other day and this is what I came up with, a scissor holder and a little needle keeper.
The last couple of days have been colder, the sea is not so nice , no swimming, one can tell that summer is over,is pretty lonely here,still so nice a quiet,one more month of this for me,really enjoying it specially after the busy time with the girls!.

Hoy mi dia no comenzo ni continuo, como yo lo habia planeado, pensaba coser una bolsa , pero rompi mi maquinita, asi que no costura a maquina para mi.la verda es que aqui tengo muy poca de mis cosas para coser,asi que tengo que inventar he utilizar lo poco y nada que encuentro.la ciudda me queda a un poquito mas de una hr y a "Quilt Shop" es algo que no saben que existe (lol).
Bueno podria ser peor, tengo el mar a dos pasos, es un lugar hermoso y tranquilo super relajador y yo aun tengo un mes mas de esto.
Asi que me decide a jugar con una cinta??? de lino que compre el otro dia y esto es lo que hize , un sobrecito para las tijeras y un librito para las agujas.

Here i am still "Down Memory Lane" after my Dutch Blocks, this was my next adventure and very first piece block,after reading about a Round Robin, for beginners I decided to join and this was the block I send , 5 girls in the States added , 5 beautiful borders and send it back to me, a beautiful quilt,well if the truth is told only a top , one day I will get it quilt!

This is what I have been doing today,is a kit from "Sheperds Bush" (Quaker Heart), it was lovely to stitch, I love the feel of silk thread.

I have just taking this picture of the sea, from my bedroom balcony, is like a milk pond, so I am off for a swim, it was beautiful yesterday too, I was at the Doctor I have a nasty throat infection, that is made me feel rotten. antibiotics for a week.
I asked and I am allow to swim.Not much sewing is been done just a stitch or two.

Acabo de tomar esta foto desde la terraza de mi dormitorio, el mar esta hermoso .Ire a nadar antes de desayuno
hace dias que no he nadado, porque no me he sentido bien, asi que ayer finalmente me decidi y fui al medico, tengo una infecion a la laringe, antibioticos por una semana, menos mal que dijo que si puedo andar.
He cosido muy poquito, pero hoy ya empezare de nuevo.

This is my first applique, quilting adventure, While living in Holland, I join the AWG and did this blocks, they were such fun to do,I remember been so afraid of the "rotary cutter" and so grateful that some one else cut the background fabric for me.

One of this day it will become a wall hanging,It is only 5 years since I did it (lol).

I have just found this site"Antique Pattern Library " that look very interesting what a lovely thing to do, share books that are not longer available with such nice patterns.And also this one "Casamia in Italia"love the free designs here.

Today I have done some sewing for the "hugs swap" the designs for this are sooo nice I have really enjoy myself stitching the mug hug , you still have time to join this, go and have a look the two girls who are runing this swap are so talented all their work is beautiful.

The girls left yesterday , the house is so quiet,I spoke to them this morning and they are all happy to be home.

To keep me busy yesterday after I took them to the airport I went shopping,what a great time I had bought some lovely bits and pieces all toys for myself (LOL).

Some fabrics,there is not Quilting shops in here so all one can do is look for nice pure cotton fabrics, they do make up for the lack of fabrics with beautiful threads, silks, beads and the buttons!! fell in love with some mother of pearl ones, the only problem was that I did have to buy them all, (VG) I will have to find something to do with them, any suggestion will be most welcome.

Se acabaron las vacaciones para mi hija y nietas, regresaron ayer a Inglaterra,a mi aun me quedan 6 semanas aqui.

Ayer luego de ir a dejarlas , para pasar la pena me fui de compras.

Aqui no hay tiendas de quilting,asi que lo que se encuentra en telas es limitado, en cambio hilos, cintas, botones hay muchos y lindos, me enamore de unos de nacar, el problema fue que o los compraba todos o nada , los compre !!!! ahora a pensar que hago con ellos.

What a lovely day we have had, went swimming with Hannah and after that we hit the town, bought some lovely things for the girls and a very nice little black dress for myself .VG
came back home tired but happy, I should really be in bed is quite late here, but the blog bug is hit me and I am trying to learn a little more about it every day.

The summer is nearly over, my Daughter and Granddaughters are going back to England on Friday, I shall stay here for another month, hope to have time to add pictures of some of my work and also time to do some sewing, i have hardly done a thing in the 2 month I have been here, having two little girls around is not easy, having said that I have really enjoy them. who wouldn't just look at them!!
